Hello All
Its time again to start the Field Day planning. The purpose of FD is to set up radio communications from nothing. This give us all practice at how to if something wipes out our current stations. It also forces us to operate at a contest noise and interference levels that makes us better operators when the bands are not arm chair copy. This year chairman is Bill AA4R. He will spear head operations and coordinate during the event. Dave W8TVC and Betty KC8PCQ will donate the use of there trailer for one station set up and the Benzie County Emergency Comm Van will be the second. Please talk to Bill and find out how you can help before the weekend of. Of Coarse the event will again be held in the Benzonia Park at the intersection of US31/ 115. Please join us Wednesday night for our nets that will give access to Bill and volunteer.

Hello Barf’ers
Its Spring in northern Michigan and time to get things in gear for Field Day, Point Betsey (light houses on the Air) and the Crystal mountain bike a thon. So we can start with Field Day. This is a great fun exercise in setting up a amateur radio station from nothing. We will again use the Benzonia Park on Saturday 11:00am June 22 until 13:00 June 23, 2013. Access the the Benzie County Mobile Command Van will be obtained. This leaves open spaces. Looking for volenteers to bring, trailers, tents, tables, generators small, grill, radio equipment, antenna’s, humor, smiles and a full belly from breakfast that starts at 09:00 hungry tummy. So Please email me a.s.a.p. at kg8cw.home@gmail.com or Bill aa4r@chartermi.net to let us know what you can help out with. Many hands make the load lighter. The Barf’ers kitty will provide the meat, buns and drinks. So Plan a dish to pass and dinner to commence around, close to , near and or at 6:00pm at the park, rain or shine dress accordingly. Thanks in advace for you help and continued success of our main radio adventure.

KG8CW, Mike
